Obituary for Janice Eileen Ringquist Young

Janice Eileen Ringquist Young, 70, of Weems went to be with her Savior on March 5, 2011. She was born February 6, 1941 in Hartford, Conn. and goes to join her late parents, Charles Oscar and Florence Edna Getto Ringquist, and eight brothers and sisters.
Janice and her husband, Bill moved to Fort Myers, Florida in 1963 from Richmond. Janice served as the secretary of Central United Methodist Church from 1965 to 1984 and also sang in the Chorus of the Fort Myers Symphony Orchestra.
After moving to the Northern Neck in 1984, Janice joined the Kilmarnock United Methodist Church, where she served as church secretary for more than 12 years until retiring in 2002. As an active member she sang in the choir, played in the bell choir, and served in numerous capacities including as the current president of the United Methodist Women. Janice also volunteered for many years as treasurer of The Lancaster County Service Unit of The Salvation Army. She was also a member of the Rappahannock Music Study Club and sang in the Community Chorus.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, William M. Young; a son, David B. Young, and his wife, Kerry of Weems; a daughter, Laura Young Bridge, and her husband, Patrick of Fluvanna Country; four grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and devoted friends.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 12 at Kilmarnock United Methodist Church, Kilmarnock. Graveside Services will be 11 a.m,. Monday, March 14 at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Richmond. Friends may call 6 – 8 p.m. Friday, March 11 at Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock.
