Walter C. Eichacker, M.D.,96, passed away at his home in Heathsville, Va. on November 18, 2015. He moved here in 1995 from Setauket, N.Y. where he had practiced family medicine for 43 years.

He was preceded in death by a son, Eric Walter Eichacker and a daughter, Melissa Eichacker Waterman.

He is survived by his wife of almost 72 years, Janet Quinn Eichacker; his brother, Franklin W. Eichacker of Glastonbury, Conn.; his son, Peter Q. Eichacker, M.D. and his wife, Nancy, of Sandy Spring, Md.; two daughters, Sarah Eichacker Oberle and her husband, Peter, of Norfolk, Va., and Rachel Eichacker Coughlin and her husband, Kevin, of Pasadena, Md. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Light of Christ Anglican Church in Heathsville on Wednesday, December 9 at 11a.m.. Burial will be at a later date in the family plot at the Setauket Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Setauket, Long Island, N.Y.
