Gaskins, Ryland Crittenden, Jr., 80, of Kilmarnock, Va. died November 25, 2016. Born and raised in Northumberland County, Va., he was preceded in death by his parents Ryland Crittenden Gaskins, Sr. and Gertrude Conley Gaskins.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Shelva Jean Lankford Gaskins; his son, Ryland (Ryan) Crittenden Gaskins, III; his daughter, Belinda Jean Gaskins, both of Kilmarnock; his grandsons Michael Anthony Gaskins and Mark Allen Gaskins, both of Newport News, Va.; his sisters Sue Gaskins Forrester and husband Mitchell Forrester of Kilmarnock and Roberta (Bobbi) Gaskins Weeks and husband Hassell Weeks of Rocky Mt., NC, and several nieces and nephews.
A retired waterman, Ryland was particularly fond of Tangier Island and her special people.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p. m. Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Currie Funeral Home in Kilmarnock, Va. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Whitechapel Episcopal Church in Lively, Va..
Family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p. m. Monday, November 28, 2016 at Currie Funeral Home.
