Margaret Whittaker Johnson, 97, of Morattico, Virginia passed away January 26, 2017.
She was born May 5, 1919 to the late Edith F. and Joseph C. Whittaker of Lancaster.

She is survived by her devoted son, James Thomas Johnson and his wife, Martha of Kilmarnock; one niece, Deborah Logan (Chris) of Towson, Md; two nephews, Louis Mariany, Jr. (Lourdes) of Treasure Island, Fl. and Joseph Mariany (Pauline) of Wallkill, N. Y. and a dear friend who was like a daughter to her, Debbie Saunders of Morattico.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Emory Bryan Johnson and her two sisters, Doris Mariany and Ella Laffler.

She was the oldest member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church and a charter member of the Morattico Waterfront Museum. Margaret and her husband owned and operated the Morattico General Store for 27 years and were dearly loved by the village of Morattico.

Funeral services will be private.
