Obituary for Mary Neal Bolch

Mary Neal Bolch,77, of Irvington, Virginia passed away on February 6, 2017.
She was born on January 26, 1940 in Asheville, N. C., daughter of the late, Charles Carroll "Pete" and Rowena Neal Bolch.

Mary graduated from Marion High School , St. Mary Junior College in Raleigh, N. C., UNC Greensboro with a degree in English and received her Master's degree from UVA in counseling.

She taught one year in High Point, N. C. and taught and was a Counselor for 34 years in Fairfax County, Va.

She was a member of Edenton United Methodist Church. Mary also volunteered at Mt. Vernon Nursing Center, Alexandria.

Mary was an avid reader, tennis player, golfer and fisherman. She loved the Outer Banks of NC and spent a lot of time at the cottage in Kitty Hawk. Her greatest achievement in life was her dedication and contributions to her family, friends and the children she taught and counseled and to her community. She was more than generous in giving of her time and efforts to others. Mary will be sorely missed by all who knew her and were privileged to be her friend.

She is survived by cousins, William Neal of North Augusta, S. C., John Neal of Olney, Md., Camilla Howes of Killingworth, Conn., James Neal and Jane Neal of Marion, N. C.; several other cousins and her best friend, Helen Woolfolk.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p. m. February 24, 2017 at Rappahannock Westminster-Canterbury, Irvington with a reception to follow.
