Obituary for Linden Tucker Bell

Linden Tucker Bell died peacefully on July 5, 2017 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born on February 27, 1945 to Dr. and Mrs. Weir Mitchell Tucker (Linden Crawford), she spent her childhood in Richmond, VA graduating from St. Catherine’s School. After graduating from Connecticut College, she lived in the Washington DC area until she settled in Irvington, VA residing at both Rappahannock Westminster-Canterbury and her cottage referred to as “the tent”.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by her sister, Dr. Pamela Cresson Tucker.
An avid photographer, Linden was thoughtful, kind, caring, and generous. With her beautiful smile and quick wit she made friends wherever she went. Always wanting to welcome friends and family to her “tent”, she treasured time with her precious canine companion, Stella.
She is survived by first cousins: Dr. Cary Olmstead Poropatich (Ron) of Bethesda, MD, Dr. William Olmstead (Lois) of Basking Ridge, NJ, Molly Ellerson Durden (Nelson) of Charlotte, NC, and Susan Stokes Call (Frank), Elsie Ellerson Morris, Thomas D. Stokes III (Carol), Thomas T. Tucker, Austin Tucker (William Sachs) of Richmond, VA and a host of extended family and friends. Special appreciation is extended to the nursing staff and aids at Rappahannock Westminster-Canterbury.
A graveside service will be held at Hollywood Cemetery, Richmond, VA on Saturday, August 5, 2017, at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to "The Pamela Tucker Fund", Funds for John Hopkins Medicine, Dept. of Medicine, Div. of Infectious Diseases, Donna Bolin, 5200 Eastern Ave., MFL Building, Center Tower, Ste. 358, Baltimore, MD 21224.
