Obituary for William Anthony "Bill" Marks Jr.

William Anthony "Bill"  Marks Jr.
William A. Marks, 90, of Irvington, Virginia passed away on November 26, 2017. Mr. Marks was born in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1927. He attended schools there and Butler University. Later was graduated from the American Institute for Foreign Trade (Thunderbird) in 1954. Mr. Marks was a U.S. Navy radar-man during WWII and later served as an infantry officer in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After his military service, Mr. Marks joined The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company and with his family served in a variety of management and senior executive positions in the International Division of Goodyear, residing in nine countries in Europe and South America over 34 years.

Mr. Marks retired from Goodyear in 1988 moving to the Northern Neck to a home on the Corrottoman River with his wife, Mary Alice. He was an active member and past president of Indian Creek Yacht and Country Club, past president of the Northern Neck Vocation Foundation and board member of the Bank of Lancaster Foundation.

Mr. Marks is survived by his wife of 62 years; two sons, James P. McNulty, William A. Marks, III and daughter Mary Lynn Presas; five grandchildren Patrick T. McNulty, James F. McNulty, Elizabeth T. Marks, Daniela M. Presas and Anthony S. Presas. He also has 4 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Monday, January 8, 2018 at Rappahannock Westminster- Canterbury from 3- 5 p. m.
