Jessie C. Britt, 90, of Kilmarnock, Virginia passed away on November 30, 2017. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond L. Britt, Sr. , who died on April 16, 2002, and her four siblings: Robert Champion, Sally Taylor, William Champion, and Alma Savage.

Jessie is survived by her son, Raymond L. Britt, Jr. and his wife, Amy Groh Britt; her four grandchildren, Jarrett, Becca, Lily, and Landon; two great grandchildren, Jax and Mason ; her niece, Jean Rickets and her nephews, Royce Winslow and James Savage and her best friend, Connie Knight, who stood by her her whole life.

Jessie was born on a farm near Louisburg, North Carolina and moved to Norfolk, Virginia shortly after graduation from high school. She married Raymond Britt, Sr. in 1946 after his return from World War II. She worked for Bank of Virginia(Sovran Bank) for over 22 years, retiring as Assistant Vice President. She was a charter member of American Business Women's Association and a past president. She was the first woman allowed to join the Harbor Club in Norfolk, Virginia.

She was a member of Norview Methodist Church for over 60 Years. She loved to play golf and to travel, having visited such venues as Spain, Turkey, England, Switzerland, Italy, Greece, Bermuda, Alaska, Monaco, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Hawaii, Canada and Rio de Janeiro.

She will be laid to rest at Maple Springs Baptist Church, Louisburg, North Carolina , 2:00 p. m. Tuesday,December 5, 2017 next to her mother and father and her siblings.

She fought a good fight, she finished the race and she kept the faith. May she rest in peace.
