Katherine Marshall Courtney, of Irvington, VA, passed away at her home on January 9, 2018. Katherine was a native of Greensboro, N.C. and attended Grimsley High School, Greensboro College, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. For thirty-two years, Katherine served as a flight attendant for United Airlines, during which time she received accolades for her commitment to safety and service, professional recognition as a trainer of excellence, and United’s honor as Flight Attendant of the Year. Known for her vibrance, her love of life, and her service to her community, Katherine will be long remembered by the many people whose lives she touched along the way. A celebration of Katherine’s life will be held January 20, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Good Luck Cellars in Kilmarnock, VA. Donations in Katherine’s honor may be made to a charity of your choice.
