Iris Walker Bray of Reedville, VA, departed this life on January 16 ,2018 at Greenfield Senior Living in Fredericksburg at 93 years of age. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Francis E. Bray ; brother John H. Walker of Williamsburg; and two sons, Francis E. Bray, Jr. (Sonny), of Fredericksburg and his wife Catherine, and William B. Bray of Colonial Heights and his wife Virginia, sister-in-law Clara Bray of Reedville; brother-in-law Earl King of Village. She had three grandchildren, Tim Bray of Fredericksburg and his wife Tracy, Adam Bray of Richmond and his wife Erin and Virginia Bray of Chesterfield. She was an active member of Bethany United Methodist Church in Reedville and enjoyed a quiet life with her family. She wrote numerous poems, many of which were published in periodicals including “Ideals” magazine. She will be buried in Roseland Cemetery in Reedville. Services will take place at Bethany United Methodist Church beginning with a visitation at 10:00 a.m. followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 19, 2018.
