Obituary for James Ewell Forrester "Jim" Conley Jr.
James "Jim"," Jimmy" Ewell Forrester Conley, Jr., 69, of Wicomico Church, Virginia passed away on April 1, 2018.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eloise Conley Anderson and James Ewell Forrester Conley, Sr. and his brother, Headley Lee Conley.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Beth Valentine Conley; daughter, Ashley O'Bier (Brian); son, James E. Conley, III (Beth); four grandchildren, Austin, Ben, David and James; step mother, Sharon Conley; sisters, Betty Bryant (Preston), Sally Gaughn (Mike), and Anne Reed (Stace); brothers, Paul Conley (Lisa) and Richard Bladen (Kristie); a special uncle, Lawson Headley (Gail) and numerous nieces and nephews.
He spent his childhood in Wicomico and graduated from Northumberland High School.
He served in the Navy for four years on a carrier in the Mediterranean. He also worked as a Marine Electrician at Tiffany Yachts for 40+ years.
He was a history buff, avid reader, sports fan and enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
After retiring, he and his wife enjoyed cruising, travel, theater, and attending baseball games.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p. m. Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock, Virginia.
