Obituary for Gary James Brittain

Gary Brittain, 54, beloved husband of Cynthia Dunaway Brittain and father of Tigger and Tigger II went to heaven on April 11, 2018 after a courageous battle against diabetes and heart disease. Gary and Cynthia had 10 fabulous years of marriage together traveling to 48 states and several countries. They both enjoyed their many road trips.

He was an avid photographer and loved shooting sporting events, landscapes and weddings. One of his greatest accomplishments was having a photo published in Sports Illustrated. He loved East Carolina football, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Kansas City Chiefs and was thrilled when Kansas City Royals won the World Series in 2015. Gary was a very proud U S Army veteran.

He is survived by his mother, Carole Brittain and brother, Nathan Brittain.

A Celebration of Life will be held 2:30 p. m. Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, Glen Allen, VA. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Please dress casually and please wear purple to honor Gary.Military graveside services will be held 2:30 p. m. Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Claybrook Baptist Church, Weems.
