William E. "Bill" Saunders, 81, of Lancaster, Virginia passed away suddenly on April 17, 2018. He was a U. S. Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Beverly Saunders; children, Michael Saunders, JoAnn Nelson and Gary Saunders (Cheryl); eight grandchildren, Amanda (Sara), Laura, Daniel, Chris, Robbie, Allie, Bradley and Richard (Jenna); three sisters, Barbara Newlond, Frances James and Betty Lou Bowers (Frank); four brothers, James Saunders, Carl Saunders, Mike Sondenhemier and Tommy Saunders and a sister-in-law, Sue Bradley.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a. m. Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Corrottoman Baptist Church, Ottoman, Va. Family will receive friends 6 to 8 p. m. Friday, April 20, 2018 at Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock. Interment will take place 11:00 a. m. Monday, April 23 at Oakwood Cemetery, Falls Church, Va.
