Obituary for Daniel Franklin "Dan" Smith Sr.
Dan Smith, 65, of Lancaster, Virginia passed away on July 27, 2018.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Marie Smith; two sons, William Smith and Daniel F. Smith, Jr.; a daughter, Elizabeth Smith Anderson; grandchildren, William Karas Smith and Karla Grace Smith; brother, Larry Smith and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, William G. Smith and his parents, Wilson and Novella Smith.
He was a loving husband, father and a friend to many and will be greatly missed. Dan worked hard all of his life and was very proud of being a Chief Engineer and Merchant Marine.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p. m. Tuesday. July 31, 2018 at Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock. Interment will follow the service at the Dodson Family Cemetery, 100 Dodson Road, Lancaster. Family will receive friends 12- 2p. m. just prior to the service.
