Obituary for Malcolm Wilbur "Mac" Green

Malcolm Wilbur Green, best known as "Mac", husband to Frances Green, passed away at his home on November 18, 2018 with his family at his side.

Mac was born in Baltimore, Maryland on April 19, 1941 to Wilbur and Esther Green. He was the middle child of three. His older sister, Joyce Day passed away in 2013 and his younger sister, Shirley Gavlin lives in Elkridge, Maryland.

After graduation from Catonsville High School, Mac attended Towson State and earned his BS in Social Sciences. He went on to receive his Master of Education degree also from Towson. During these years he was a proud member of the National Guard where he served for six years.

Mac taught in several schools in Howard County, Maryland over his 30 year career, the majority of which was Howard High School. After retiring from teaching, he and Fran moved to Irvington in 2007. His hobbies included singing in the Grace Episcopal Choir becoming President for many years, monitored the Blue Trail in Hills Quarter where he resided and also became an avid golfer.

He is survived by his wife, Fran of 29 years; his children, Denise Green of Sykesville, Md., Christopher Green of Marysville, CA, Katherine Green Poole of King George, Va. and his stepdaughter, Kelly Ritter Clouse of Kingman, AZ. He has 16 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Services will be held 1:00 p. m. Friday, November 30, 2018 at Grace Episcopal Church, Kilmarnock, Va. with a reception following at the parish hall. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Mac's name to the American Association for Cancer Research or the Lung Cancer Foundation of America.
