Obituary for James Wesley Hearold

James Wesley Hearold succumbed quietly on Monday evening, February 18, 2019 at his home in Irvington , Virginia , which was his favorite place to be. Whether it was tending the garden in the backyard, cutting grass, trimming the hydrangea bushes, boating on Carter's Creek and the Rappahannock River or running the sidewalks with his wheelchair, Irvington was HOME and had been since the entire family moved there in the 1940's.

He was born in Kilmarnock, Va. on August 29, 1929 to Mary Alice Davis Hearold and John W. Hearold. He was the second son in the group of 10 children. He worked at an early age, entered the Army, and then married Minnie Pierson from Tidewater in November of 1953.

Wesley worked for Overnight Transportation Company for over 25 years and thoroughly enjoyed his retirement life afterwards.

He is survived by three daughters, Patty Dawson (Barry) of White Stone, Mary Margaret Hearold of White Stone and Kathy Conrad (William) of Lively. He has three grandchildren and two great grandchildren; Kyle Conrad of Lively, James Ryan Dawson and Shannon of Kingsland, Ga. and Erin P. Dawson and John Kidd of Oilville, Va.; McKynzi and Brieghton Dawson of Kingsland, Ga. He is also survived by one sister, Helen Mitchell of Kilmarnock and two brothers, Thomas D. Hearold of Irvington and Bud Lee Hearold of Kilmarnock and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 3:00 p. m. Friday, February 22,2019 at Irvington United Methodist Church, Irvington. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
