Obituary for Walter Vincent Iglehart

Walter V. Iglehart
Walter Vincent Iglehart, 87, of Kilmarnock died on Saturday, April 14, 2007, at Rappahannock General Hospital, Kilmarnock. Born in Baltimore, Md. he was the son of Walter Vincent Iglehart and Lillian Schmidt. Mr. Iglehart served in the U. S. Army in the European and African Theaters during World War II. During his professional career, he was employed by the Baltimore Sun, Bendix Radio of Maryland, Goddard Space Center of Maryland and retired from the Fairchild Space Company of Germantown, Md. in 1986. Mr. Iglehart was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served a mission with his wife in Paris from 1987 to 1989. He is predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Helene Marie Scopel whom he met and married in Soissons, France.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Helen and John Kelley of Kilmarnock, Va.; a daughter, Linda Clark of Essex, Md; seven grandchildren, Shanna Clark, Natira Davis, Daria Albertson, and Jolene Clark of Baltimore Md., Donna Egan of Oakton, Va. James LaBelle and Dennis LaBelle of Woodbridge, Va.; 20 great grandchildren; niece, Barbara Iglehart of Baltimore, Md.; nephew, Alain Scopel and two sisters-in-law of France.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 17 at the Currie Funeral Home in Kilmarnock. Interment will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 18 at Parkwood Cemetery, Baltimore, Md.
To honor his wishes and in support of his love for children, the family request that in lieu of flowers, that donations in his memory be sent in support of youth activities to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, c/o Talmadge Newsome, P. O. Box 545, Burgess, Va. 22432
