George A. Nickels, 78, of Kilmarnock, Virginia passed away on February 2, 2018.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Kathleen M. Long Nickels; daughter, Sharon C. Minarczyk (Joseph); granddaughter, Tiffany A. Minarczyk; and sisters, Helene Meikle (Kenneth )of Ohio and Maryann Iacona (Jerry )of New Jersey. Mr. Nickels was preceded in death by his parents, Matthew J. Nickels and Theresa Speran Nickels; his brother, Matthew Nickels and sister, Catherine Lauria.

He was an outstanding and loving husband, father, father-in-law, and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Mass of Resurrection will be held 11:00 a. m. Friday, February 9, 2018 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Kilmarnock, Virginia. Family will receive friends 6:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. Thursday, February 8 at Currie Funeral Home. Burial will be private.
