Obituary for Carol Jean Kapitan (Riddlebarger)
Carol Jean Kapitan, 77, of Kilmarnock, Virginia died on March 17, 2018. She was a Parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Kilmarnock.
Surviving are her daughters, Susan (Chuck) Stevens and Anastasia Kapitan; her son, Peter (Monica) Kapitan; three grandchildren, Jack Stevens, Annie Stevens and Nicole Kapitan; sister, Wilma Griffin and brother, Earl (Ila) Riddlebarger and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years Peter Kapitan; her parents Jasper and Minnie Riddlebarger; sisters, Virginia Fordyce, Faye Corelli and Pauline White.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus, Infant Jesus of Prague Council, Farm Bureau and an auxiliary member of the Legion of Mary. She was also a Third Order member of the St. Joseph’s Secular Carmel of Port Tobacco.
A Mass of Resurrection will be 11:00 a. m. Saturday, March 24, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Kilmarnock. Family will receive friends 4:00 to 8:00 p. m. Friday, March 23 at Currie Funeral Home. A Wake Service will be 5:30 p.m. and a Rosary will be 6:30 p. m.
