Obituary

CHRISTINA L HELD (TINA)

KILMARNOCK - Christina L. Held, 65, beloved sister of Loretta L. Warren, died suddenly on December 26, 2018. Known as Tina to her family and friends, she was born in 1953 in Danbury, CT, the daughter of Frank and Ann Libutti (Held). She grew up in Katonah, NY, and graduated from John Jay High School in 1971.

Tina worked throughout her life. Her first job was at Northern Westchester Hospital in Mt. Kisco, NY, where she worked as an equipment technician for over 20 years. After her father passed away, she moved to Kilmanock, VA with her mother, Ann, in 1998 to be closer to her sister and brother-in-law, Bill Warren. She took care of her mother at their home in Heatherfield Court for 2 years. When her mother passed away, Tina went back to work, first at Mayfair House (now Commonwealth Assisted Living), and then for the past 10 years, at Walmart in Kilmarnock. Tina was a friend to everyone, always with a positive attitude, a smile on her face, and willing to help in any way.

She joined Living Water Lutheran Church in Kilmarnock and was an active member at the time of her passing. Tina loved her cats, was known for her delicious chocolate chip cookies, and was an avid bowler with her Kilmarnock team. She will be greatly missed by her Living Water family, her bowling team, and her friends at Walmart.

Tina is survived by her sister, Loretta, and brother-in-law, Bill; all the members of her extended Warren family; her uncle Karl (Karen) of Dallas, Georgia; and cousin John (Jennifer) in Florida; her dear friends, Claudia Holmes and Tom Wilhelmsen, of Irvington, and Barbara and Ray Fabian, of Connecticut. Her family would also like to thank Dr. Joseph Bessler, for his kindness and care of Tina throughout her years in Kilmarnock.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date at Living Water Lutheran Church. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Living Water Lutheran Church, PO Box 818, Kilmarnock, VA 22482-0818.

Loretta and Bill: I am just learning of Tina's sudden death. I am still in shock. She had been living here in Heatherfield longer than anyone else. I lost my own sister suddenly two years ago and it is painful, to say the least. Tina was a very fine person and my sympathies are with you . Bless her. Anita Sanders

Bill and Loretta, We were stunned at the news of Tina’s passing. We always enjoyed so much speaking with her for all these last years. It will never be the same without her. Tina always had a ready smile....she was an affectionate, kind, gentle soul who was easy to love. We pray that she is again beside her beloved mother. Loretta, we are so sorry for the loss of Tina. You were such a wonderful sister to her...making sure she was safe, happy, and busy at the jobs she so enjoyed that kept her in touch with people where she was the happiest. May God comfort you and Bill in your grief. Love, Becky and June
