Obituary for Winfield Cosby Talley

Winfield Cosby Talley, 87, of Lancaster, Virginia passed away on March 15, 2019. He was born on September 2, 1931 in Silver Spring, Maryland. He was an auto mechanic and Pastor.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Nancy Steele Talley; children, Alice T. Coates (Jimmy) of Lively, Martha T. Wilson (John) of Denton, Md., Winfield W. Talley of Lancaster and Marjorie T. Lampkin (Billy) of Regina; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; sister, Gloria T. Stover (Jack) of Wheaton, Md. and many nieces, nephews and special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayland W. Talley and Josephine Keyser Talley; four siblings and a daughter-in-law.

Rev. Talley served as a spiritual leader and pastor in multiple ministry settings including Chaplain in the U. S. Army and his most recent, and closest to his heart, Historic White Marsh Church in Lancaster.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p. m. Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at Historic White Marsh Church. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
