Obituary for George Randolph Palmer Jr.
George Randolph Palmer, Jr., 82, of Reedville, VA passed away April 1, 2019. Survived by his wife, Geraldine; daughters ,Colleen Janek, Cathleen Petre, Karen Simon, Patti Fellers, and son George Randolph Palmer III; also with 2 step children ,Lillian and Harold Katz and 12 grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters, Mary Smith, Suzanne Atwood, and brother, John Armistead Palmer II.
Randy worked as an engineer for Douglas Aircraft in California before joining his father in the metal manufacturing business in Cleveland, OH. Upon retirement, he moved to Reedville where his grandfather, John Armistead Palmer, Jr., had once played a prominent role in the menhaden fishing industry. He volunteered as a docent at the Reedville Fishermen’s Museum. He was an avid golfer and bridge player.
