August "Gus" George Burgin, Jr., 85, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on April 22, 2017.

August is survived by his wife, Janet of 57 years; son, George Burgin (Ann) ; three granddaughters, Catherine Burgin, Grace Burgin and Karen Burgin and his brother, Karl Burgin (Patricia).

August was born on June 16, 1931 in Buffalo, New York to August and Grace Burgin. He married Janet Orendorf on July 30, 1960. August's long and successful career as an aircraft mechanic started with the U. S. Navy in 1950 and concluded with the US Airways in 1993. August retired to Kilmarnock, Virginia to a beautiful home of his design on Dividing Creek where he loved to sail and fish. He also enjoyed building and flying radio controlled model airplanes. August was president of the Northern Neck R/C Club for over 20 years.
